Method

  1. Melt the butter in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and egg.
  3. Mix. At this point the 'batter' will be very solid.
  4. Add milk slowly, one tablespoon at a time. Mix as you go. This prevents the batter from being lumpy.
  5. Heat a pan, with butter. The pan should be just hot enough that the butter is sizzling.
  6. Add spoonfuls of batter to the pan.
  7. Wait until the batter begins to form bubbles on top, then flip.
  8. Wait 15 seconds more, and remove from the pan.
