Ingredients
- 700g ground beef
- 16 oz can of tomato puree
- 16 oz box of kidney beans
- 16 oz box of black beans
- 2 yellow onions
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 large poblano peppers
- 5 spicy chilis, your choice.
- 1 cube of beef boullion
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- Bay leaves, star anise.
Method
- Put the tomato purée in a pot with about 100 ml of water, a bay leaf, a star anise and some beef boullion and let it start to simmer.
- Chop the peppers into really big pieces, and fry them with olive oil. The pieces should be big, so the water doesn’t all leak out of them.
- When they’re browned and the air in the kitchen is unbreathable, take them out of the pan and chop them really small. Then put them in the pot with the tomato puree.
- Then dice up an onion and sauté that and add it to the pot. Then brown the beef and add it. Add both to the growing collection of things in that pot.
- Add the beans, and all the spices.
- Let it simmer at a low heat for a while, but it’s pretty much done whenever you want
